Dr. Zaheer grew up in Aurora, Colorado where he attended middle school, and high school. He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Colorado, Denver, and was excited to attend the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine for Dental School. He graduated in 2018 and has been practicing in Colorado since. As someone who has spent a lot of time in Colorado, he is excited to be able to serve the communities he grew up near.
Dr. Zaheer enjoys building relationships with his patients as well as providing excellent care to his patients. Patients would describe him as easygoing, and having a gentle touch with his dental care. In his free time, he enjoys fitness, photograpghy, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Bernard Slota completed his both his undergraduate and his dental studies at Marquette University, graduating in 1977 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He has been named one of American’s Top Dentists by the Consumers Research Council of America. He has practiced in the Lakewood area for 36 years, spending the first 32 years in downtown Denver before moving to his current location. He continues his dental education and training regularly through daily journals and monthly meetings, and has received advanced training in implant dentistry. He also completed a mini residency in 2014-2015.
Nyah joined our team in 2018. She graduated from Emily Griffith Technical College Dental Assistant Program in 2018. She has since been trained as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant. She enjoys coming to work everyday & being able to get to know her patients. Nyah’s favorite part about dentistry is playing an important role in improving patients quality of life. She also enjoys learning new things every day. She enjoys spending time with her Husband & her family. She likes to travel. Nyah is the youngest of 3 siblings whom she is very close with & has two nephews that she loves very much.
Margaret, originally from California, has called Colorado home for the past five years. She attended Colorado State University (CSU) before pursuing her passion for dental care, graduating from the Academy of Dental Assisting Careers in 2024. Growing up in close proximity to her mother’s dental practice, Margaret developed a deep appreciation for the impact a confident smile can have on a person’s life. Outside of her professional pursuits, Margaret enjoys skiing and cherishes any opportunity to immerse herself in Colorado’s beautiful outdoors.
Jennifer is a valued member of the Denver Smiles team, returning full-time after first joining Dr. Slota in 1995. Over the years, she has worked with our office while balancing family life and raising her children. She holds a double bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing from the University of Colorado and brings a wealth of experience to her role as our Office Manager.
Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time outdoors—hiking, camping, and tending to her garden. She also loves caring for her dogs and chickens, making the most of Colorado’s beautiful landscape.
Sarah joined our team this year, bringing experience from both the eyecare industry and her work as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. As our insurance specialist, she’s the friendly face that welcomes you to our office and is always ready to assist with your insurance needs.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys hiking, spending time with her dogs, and indulging in her creative side through sewing and crafting.
